SYSTEM OF PLAY

Regulations

Players in all tournament categories will be divided into preliminary qualifying groups, playing in a round-robin format. Each group will consist of 4 to 6 players. Players from the same club cannot be placed in the same group, except when the number of players from one club exceeds the number of groups.

The winners and runners-up in each group advance to Final A, while players finishing third, fourth, or fifth advance to Final B. Both finals are played in a progressive elimination system until a winner is determined. Players from the same qualifying group can only meet again in the final. The draw for the main bracket after the groups is generated automatically by ITTF-licensed software: www.tournamentsoftware.com.

In the Open Tournament (OPEN):

• In the preliminary groups and up to the round of 16, matches are played best of 5.
• From the quarterfinals to the final, matches are played best of 7.
• The top two players from each preliminary group qualify for the main knockout bracket, played as a single-elimination format.

In Veterans and Junior tournaments, all matches are played best of 5.

Seeding for the Veterans Tournament is based on last year’s results.

Seeding for the Open Tournament is also based on last year’s results. If players from the world ranking register, the top 4 ranked players will be placed directly into the main draw.

Late registrations after the official deadline will only be accepted if the format allows it (vacant spots available in the groups). Late entrants pay double the entry fee.
